The Grandfather Mountain Highland Games take place over the second full weekend in July every year. The venue is MacRae Meadows on Grandfather Mountain near Linville, North Carolina. This four-day Scottish festival is North America’s largest gathering of Scottish Clans. This year, around 46,000 people attended.  The event also attracted the largest number of Clans in recent memory. The colorful tartans, thrilling athletic competitions, delicious food, and lively Celtic music are truly a sight to behold.  

The Highland Games weekend is a highlight of my year. I love exploring with my camera, reconnecting with old friends, and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. Here are some of my favorite images from the 2024 event. Enjoy!
