The Carolina Renaissance Festival 2019 is a full day of entertainment and pageantry as history comes alive with hundreds of costumed characters re-creating a 16th Century European Marketplace. There is non-stop fun for all ages. Music, comedy, theater, games, and rides. Not to mention hand-made arts and crafts, and artisan demonstrations.

The 26th annual Carolina Renaissance Festival runs every Saturday and Sunday, from October 5 through November 24, 2019. It’s open from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. rain or shine.

The village is located near Charlotte, NC, between Concord and Huntersville on Highway 73 at Poplar Tent Road.

My wife Linda is a retired Theater Arts teacher. She used to bring her students to the festival when their schedule permitted. They spent most of their time taking in the live performances. On the other hand, I just love to visit with my camera. I observe and capture the characters, colors, and atmosphere.

This year we paid a visit to the Festival on Saturday, October 26. In addition to some of the familiar faces, I encountered several new characters that I had not seen previously met. Go to the Gallery
