What a difference a bit of wind, or lack thereof, makes! The actual temperature during the show was in the 30’s and low 40’s. But the sun was shining and there was little or no wind. So it felt quite comfortable. There were even a few riders who were brave enough or tough enough to ride without a jacket!

The Carolina Renfest is usually an annual event, but it was cancelled last year because of Covid. So being two years since we last visited, we really wanted to go this year. October 30. was a convenient day for both of us, and we were not disappointed! I spent most of the day wandering around with my camera and have some interesting photographs to show ….
I knew that Saturday was going to be cold, but I missed the bit about the wind chill. To make matters worse, I forgot to pack gloves! I searched through my car but couldn’t find my favorite cold-weather photography gloves. The finger tips on these special gloves, or flip-top mittens, can fold back exposing the skin. This allows a firmer, more natural grip, and easier access to the small buttons and dials on the camera. When the camera is being used the tips are flipped off, otherwise they are flipped back on …
