Carolina Renaissance Festival 2023

The 30th Annual Carolina Renaissance Festival & Artisan Marketplace runs on Saturdays & Sundays until November 19, 2023.

"This Festival is a full day of entertainment and pageantry as history comes alive with hundreds of costumed characters re-creating a 16th Century European Marketplace. It's a 25-acre outdoor, open air village nestled in the forest and meadows, complete with castles, cottages, kitchens and pubs, filled with activities. My Visit - November 5.

We had a difficult time trying to find a day to visit the Carolina Renfest this year. As time was running out, and we couldn’t find a day when we were both free, I went on my own on November 5.

I followed a familiar pattern of choosing a location then waiting for interesting faces in the crowd. After a while I would find a different spot and try again. I ended up with some really good pictures, but the most interesting shots happened in the late afternoon with the lowering sun providing some lovely backlight images.
